Interview - Mark Foster/Heroin Skateboards


1.Creepy greetings from this part from the planet called Perú,Mark! How are you mate? Hows going the things in Heroin Skateboards?
Good we celebrate 20 years this year. 



2.Heroin Skateboards is a brand what support the underground skateboarding around the world and you know it!
Mark explain some more about the existence from Heroin Skateboards.
Broke my wrist skating in London in 1998, lost my girl and my house, decided fuck it, I’m starting a skateboard company. Sketched the first logo with my left hand in hospital. Since then its just been really my vision of skateboarding, which doesn’t necessarily fit in with what is cool in skateboarding. 


3.Mark you do the artwork for Heroin Skateboards too, what are your influences and motiviations to do this killer and rad work!
Just same as its always been really, good music good films, good coffee. Tom Waits, Nick Cave, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Jean DeBuffet, Jim Phillips, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Stone Roses, Sleaford Mods, Snatch, Chopper, Spiritualized, WU LYF.


4.Heroin Skateboards have a crew with BA.KU rigth? explain some more about this.
Got sent their first video by someone, we’ve been in touch ever since, I’m a fan of their work and they like what we do, so its good. Deer Man and DLD rule! Always good times with those guys. 



5.A word to:

6.Mark some words about the about the underground and diy movement in skateboarding from your city. 
Its really exciting to see whats happening everywhere with that now. I’m from England, I see it happening back there as well as L.A. where I live, its rad that skaters all over the world are taking matters into their own hands.



7.You know some from the underground and diy movement from Southamerica?
No, I don’t know much about teh South American scene, I know you have some good metal and coffee though. 



8.What things are cooked on Heroin Skateboards for the distorted future? 
Trying for 20 more years, we’ll see, just trying to keep it all interesting still.
