Interview - Matt Hillier/Beer Slash (UK)

1.Cheers and greetings from Peru Hell,Matt! how are you? hows going the things in Beer Slash?
Im good thanks. Yeah Beer Slash is all good, just did some new art with George Heaven, London based illustrator & skateboarder.

2.Tell us how you how did you start your sick project called Beer Slash?
My buddies at Old Boys Skate Club asked me to film bit of footage to contribute to a video they were making about skaters over 30. I filmed my friend Adrian knocking over some cans on the coping and other footage, when they got it they started calling us the Beer Slash crew. I thought that was a fun/cool name so made some stickers, then some T-shirts and it went form there.

3.what are your influences and motivations to project them in Beer Slash?
80's and 90's skateboarding, underground surfing and punk rock, thats about it.

4.Matt explaim some more about the skate and surf underground scene from your city.You do skate or surf actually?
I mainly skate at home, we have a good mini combi, I'm not really in the "scene" as such. I work and look after my 4 year old son. My scene is skating our bowl with the other locals and friends that come down - "Mates who Skate" crew. Surf wise I just try and surf uncrowded spots like every other surfer. I'd rather surf a more onshore wave than go in with a big crowd.
Yeah I skate and surf. I skated hard in the 90's but had some years off the board but fully back at it now. Back then I just skated street, never a park, never saw a bowl, but now I just skate bowl.
Ive Surfed since I was 12 years old and have competed, ridden for companies and traveled the world, never took a break.

5.Are you into punk rock scene? what are your favorite punk rock bands?
Yeah loved punk since 13 years old, and haven't stopped, used to play in bands and all that kind of stuff.
My favourite punk bands are Adolescents, Bad Brains, Wipers, Aggression, S/T, and stuff like that.

6.You have anothers proyects paralell to Beer Slash?
Nope!

7.What kind from merch have Beer Slash? 
T's, hats, stickers, sweaters, long sleeve T's and shorts.

8.How the sick freaks can find the merch from Beer Slash?

9.Chaotic future plans?
Trying to get decks made, go skating, go surfing thats about it, maybe try and get a surf trip.
